Brooklyn Relief Kitchen at Old First is a volunteer-led organization founded by restaurant industry professionals to tackle food insecurity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. We prepare fresh cooked meals and relief boxes for distribution by our local frontline community partners.
Tuesday thru Saturday 10am-2pm we collect non-perishable food and cash donations. Look for us under the tent in front of Old First Reformed Church on 729 Carroll St at 7th Avenue.
We will be closed on Thursday, February 18, 2021 and Friday, February 19. due to a predicted winter weather. As such, there will be no food deliveries to CHiPS or to Caribbean Women’s Health Association. We will return on Saturday, February 20.

Volunteer
Brooklyn Relief Kitchen is staffed and managed by volunteers. The kitchen is open from 6:30am to 2:30pm Tuesday thru Saturday. Volunteer hours are flexible but a consistent schedule is preferred.

Experienced kitchen workers assist Chef Kate in the kitchen. Less experienced volunteers prep, portion food, clean, sanitize and sort donations.

Our volunteer drivers deliver food to our partnering frontline organizations using their own vehicles.

Weather permitting our food drive tent in front of Old First Reformed Church is staffed by volunteers Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 2:00pm.
Office
Volunteers with experience in non-profit fundraising, marketing, graphics, and website maintenance keep the proverbial gears turning.
If your organization, building, school or business would like to organize a food drive on our behalf we are very happy to assist you with signage, donation boxes, information flyers, donation jar, and donation pickup. This is especially important for us in the winter months!
